Don’t miss this year’s Iowa Sales Tax Holiday when doing your back-to-school shopping. The tax free weekend takes place over 2 days:

Saturday, August 5
On these dates, you can purchase these items free of Iowa state sales tax:
– Clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less per item. Accessories such as jewelry, handbags, wallets, watches, backpacks, and similar items do not qualify for the Sales Tax Holiday.
Many stores will be having special back to school sales on eligible items in conjunction with the sales tax holiday. Walmart, Target, Belk, Shoe Carnival, Famous Footwear, Dillard’s, Sears, JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls, Kohl’s, Old Navy, Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples have frequent tax free weekend sales and back to school tax holiday promotions.
