It’s that time of year again! Time for McDonald’s to offer special pricing on the Filet-O-Fish sandwich. When February rolls around, Micky D’s discounts their Filet-O-Fish by a significant amount. These promotions usually begin around Valentine’s Day, lasting until Good Friday or Easter Sunday.
Filet-O-Fish deals have been happening for at least 50 years. I’m 55 and can remember when they were just 49 cents! Over the years, the promotional lent price has increased gradually: 59 cents, 79 cents, 99 cents, 2 for $2, 2 for $2.22, 2 for $3, 2 for $3.33, 2 for $4, and 2 for $4.44. Last year, 2 for $5 was a common sale price. In many areas, the Filet-O-Fish was available as part of McDonald’s 2 for $5 Mix & Match Deal. This offer has returned for 2020, enabling you to enjoy fish sandwiches for just $2.50 each.
*UPDATE 4/10/2020* The McDonald’s app “Buy a Filet-O-Fish, get any size Fries and an Apple Pie FREE!” deal has ended. I was hoping they would bring it or a similar offer back for Good Friday. No luck in my area. Check your phone, though, because app promotions can and do vary by region.
The Buy One Get One for 25 Cents McDonald’s mobile app deal has also ended. At least for now. We’ll be watching to see if they bring it back or replace it with a similar offer. (Buy One Get One FREE would be great!) In the meantime, it looks like the best national Filet-O-Fish deal is the 2 for $5 Mix & Match, where available.
I’m still waiting for Filet-O-Fish Friday but haven’t seen it yet. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more cheap Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and let you know what we find. Be sure to check back often. If YOU spot a deal at your local McDonald’s that’s better than 2 for $5, please let us know!
As expected, McDonald’s has brought back their ever-popular Shamrock Shake for St. Patrick’s Day. In 2020, the Shamrock Shake celebrates it’s 50th Anniversary! This minty masterpiece returned to restaurants on Wednesday, February 19.
As in previous years, it comes in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large. Back in the day, you could get one at any Micky D’s restaurant. This is no longer the case. Your local McDonald’s may or may not be offering them. How do you know whether or not you can get one in your neighborhood? Simple! Just download the exclusive Shamrock Shake Finder app. It’s free on Google Play (Android) or from the Apple App Store (iPhone.)
If you’re on a budget, you can get a Small Shamrock Shake for $2.00 in most markets. This is because it is technically a McCafe Shake. All small McCafe drinks carry a $2 price tag as part of McDonald’s $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu. Medium and large pricing varies by market. Typically, a medium shake is around $2.50 while a large sells for about $3.00.
How long will McDonald’s Shamrock Shake be available? At least through St. Patrick’s Day and probably through the end of March. In past years, last call occurred around Easter Sunday. This is the same time the Filet-O-Fish Lent promotions end. If you really want to do it up right, get to McDonald’s for a Filet-O-Fish Friday, paired with a Shamrock Shake!
Remember McDonald’s McPick 2 for $5? They’ve brought it back, rebranded as the 2 for $5 Mix & Match Deal. Just as before, this promotion features 4 of Micky D’s most popular menu items:
– Big Mac
– Quarter Pounder with Cheese
– 10 Piece Chicken McNuggets
Choose any 2 and pay just $5.00. The 2 for $5 Mix & Match Deal is available for lunch or dinner, 7 days a week. No coupon required. Regular menu price for the Big Mac now exceeds $4 in most areas, so this represents a great value. Try the new and improved 2 for $5 Mix & Match Deal today!
Offer valid for a limited time at participating locations. Most McDonald’s restaurants will be open regular hours on Presidents Day (Monday, February 17.)
We are waiting anxiously to see if McDonald’s brings back their “Cold Days, Hot Deals” lunch and dinner promotion for 2020. As you may recall, this deal gave you a Quarter Pounder with Cheese for yesterday’s temperature at noon when you purchased one at the regular menu price. For instance, if it was 7 degrees at 12PM yesterday, you would buy one Quarter Pounder at regular price and receive the second for just 7 cents.
As you would expect, this offer was limited to select northern markets. A variation at some locations provided the same deal on an Egg McMuffin. If temperature at noon was 0 or below zero, your second QPC or Egg McMuffin was free. Needless to say, this is a great winter promotion. We’re hoping that Mickey D’s brings it back for 2020. If they do, you’ll hear about it first on this page. Stay tuned!
Do you have the McDonald’s app on your smartphone? If not, you’re missing out on a fantastic fast food deal!
Every week, there are several rotating specials exclusively for app users. You can receive discounts off specific menu items, FREE items, plus 2-for-1 offers. Currently, their best offer is a large or regular sandwich for just 25 CENTS when you purchase one at the regular menu price! This includes Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and Filet-O-Fish. Egg and Sausage McMuffins are included. Chicken sandwiches are included. Needless to say, this is an amazing deal!
The great thing about the McDonald’s app deals is that you don’t have to clip coupons or remember to bring them to the restaurant. Just show the code on your phone and scan it at the cash register. This special is valid once per week per customer. Be sure to check and make sure the offer is still valid before you head to Micky D’s. Also, be sure this deal is available in your area since McDonald’s app promotions and dates sometimes vary by market.
Offer valid once per week through Sunday, March 31, 2019 at participating McDonald’s restaurants. Not valid in conjunction with any other coupon or special promotional discount. Excludes Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Signature Crafted menu items, Triple Breakfast Stack, Bacon Big Mac, Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Quarter Pounder Deluxe, Double Filet-O-Fish, Double Homestyle Burger, $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu items, and Everyday Value Menus. Most McDonald’s locations will be open holiday hours on Easter Sunday, April 21.
