Moe’s Southwest Grill FREE Cinco de Mayo Shirts

May 4, 2020

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks as if there will be no Cinco de Mayo 2020 party at Moe’s. At least not in their restaurants. As per the email which I received:

“Cinco cancelled? Nope – just a location change. This year, we’re comin’ to you with our Virtual Cinco Party – hosted by comedian, Aaron Chewning – May 5th at 6pm EST on IG Live – @moessouthwestgrill. Plus, free delivery on taco kits and orders $10+, so you can keep your house slippers on.”

According to Moe’s Facebook page, they will be giving away “free t-shirts, taco kits, burritos & more!” In many areas, restaurants remain closed for dine-in, so this makes sense. Still, it’s disappointing. I have attended this event every May 5th for the past several years. Let’s hope the COVID-19 coronavirus mess is over by this time next year so we can once again celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Moe’s!

The following information pertains to last year’s event and is being provided for reference purposes only:

Anyone can have a Cinco de Mayo party. But there’s only one Cinco de MOE’S! As is their May 5th tradition, Moe’s Southwest Grill is giving away FREE Cinco de Moe’s t-shirts to the first 50 customers at each location. Enjoy the party and get your official 19th Anniversary party shirt, absolutely free.

These shirts have become somewhat of a collector’s item. I have been attending this event for the past 6 years. Each time, I run into people who were also there 365 days earlier. Come out this weekend and celebrate 19 years of Cinco de Moe’s!

Offer valid at participating restaurants on Sunday, May 5, 2019 while supplies last. Shirts will be given to the first 50 people in line at each Moe’s. Limit 1 free shirt per customer. Most Moe’s Southwest Grill locations will be open holiday hours on Memorial Day (Monday, May 27.)

Zantigo Cinco De Mayo 5 Chilitos for $5

April 11, 2020

As of Friday, April 3, Zantigo remains OPEN for takeout, drive-thru, and delivery orders in most areas.

Zantigo is a fast food legend in the Twin Cities! These Mexican restaurants began life as Zapata in the 1970s. A few years later, the name changed to Zantigo. In the mid-1980s, Zantigo’s parent company sold to Pepsico, owner of rival chain Taco Bell. All Zantigo restaurants were either closed or converted to Taco Bells.

Zantigo was reborn in the late 1990s. Under new ownership and using authentic recipes, original Zantigo managers began opening NEW restaurants in and around Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Over the past 20 years, some locations have closed while new ones have taken their place. Currently, there are 4 Zantigo restaurants: Bloomington, Fridley, St. Paul, and Woodbury.

On May 5th, Zantigo will be offering 5 of their signature hot or mild Chiltos for just $5.00! Bring the whole crew and enjoy 5 for $5 Cinco de Mayo Chilitos at Zantigo. Same price as last year and same size Chilitos.

Offer valid only on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at participating Zantigo restaurants. Not valid in conjunction with any other coupon or special promotional discount. Most Zantigo Mexican restaurants will be open holiday hours on Memorial Day (Monday, May 27.)
