On these dates, you can purchase these items free of Maryland state sales tax:
Clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less per item. Accessories such as jewelry, watches, watchbands, handbags, handkerchiefs, umbrellas, scarves, ties, headbands, and belt buckles are excluded.
Many stores will be having special back to school sales on eligible items in conjunction with the sales tax holiday. Walmart, Target, Belk, Neiman Marcus, Famous Footwear, Dillard’s, Sears, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Marshalls have frequent tax free weekend sales and back to school tax holiday promotions.
