Colorado Sales Tax Holiday Free Weekend

February 26, 2026

If you live in Colorado, I have some bad news: as of this writing, Colorado will not be having a sales tax holiday or tax free weekend in 2026. All back to school purchases during July and August will be subject to the normal combined state + county + city sales tax rate. In most areas, the total sales tax is between 7% and 9%.

If you happen to be traveling this summer, these 18 states WILL be holding sales tax holidays: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no state sales tax.

In Minnesota and Pennsylvania, clothing and footwear are exempt.

Keep your fingers crossed and maybe (hopefully!) your legislators will enact a Colorado sales tax holiday for 2026.

Kroger 4th of July Sale $3.22 Coke Pepsi 12 Packs

November 6, 2025

This archived July 4th promotion was active previously but has NOT been confirmed for 2026. I will keep watching to see if it or a similar offer returns. As soon as I receive further information, this page will be updated. Be sure to check back often!

There are 6 times each year to buy soda pop and potato chips: the week before Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Year’s. Many stores will sell sodas and chips at or below cost during these times. The purpose is to get you into the store where they hope you will then purchase all your other holiday groceries and party items from them.

Kroger is featuring Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper varieties, four 12 packs for $12.88 in most markets. That’s just $3.22 each! According to the newspaper insert, you must buy 4 in the same transaction to receive the sale price. Otherwise, the price can be up to $6.99 each. No coupon is required and there is no minimum purchase requirement. Stock up at 4 for $12.88 and make sure you have enough to last until Labor Day!

Lay’s Potato Chips, Doritos, Tostitos, and Rold Gold Pretzels are sale priced at $1.88 each when you buy 4. This is for the standard size bags, described in the ad as 4.75-16 ounces. Quantities less than 4 are priced at up to $4.99 each.

All offers are valid through Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at participating locations. End date may vary slightly by region. Most Kroger stores will be open holiday hours on Independence Day (Monday, July 4.)
