Moondance Jam Minnesota Discount Tickets

Several readers from Minnesota and surrounding states have asked me where to get cheap tickets to Moondance Jam in Walker. This year, Moondance Jam 34 will be held July 17-18-19, 2025.

Moondance Jam is a regional outdoor rock festival. It’s three days of music, camping, and good times with friends. I personally attended the 2002, 2003, and 2004 Moondance Jams and thoroughly enjoyed each one. 2025 headliners have yet to be announced. Regional acts will perform on the MDJ Saloon and Tiki Stages with camping available.

I don’t have a specific source for discount Moondance Jam tickets, but I do have a suggestion: Many radio stations have shopping shows where they sell hotel/motel rooms, restaurant certificates, tickets, and other similar items at a substantial discount. The various businesses give these items in exchange for advertising airtime on the radio station. It’s known as “trade” or “trade out” within the radio industry. Smaller, hometown stations are most likely to air shopping shows.

In 2003, I was able to obtain a 4 day Moondance Jam General Admission Pass for just $50.00 by purchasing it on one of these shopping shows. At the time, the “official” price (face value) of this ticket was $100.00. If your local station(s) have a shopping show, call and ask if they have Moondance Jam tickets. Many radio stations will list their shopping show items on the station’s website. VIP tickets can also be acquired in this manner, although they are harder to find, due to their higher value and relative scarcity.

Why pay full gate price for Moondance Jam tickets if you don’t have to? Ticket discounts are out there and waiting to be found. Happy hunting and enjoy the Jam in Walker, Minnesota this year!

Kroger $5.99 Blue Bell Ice Cream 1/2 Gallon

I love Blue Bell ice cream! For one thing, their containers are still a full 1/2 gallon. Used to be, 64 ounces was the standard size for ice cream. But then, “package shrinking” became a way of life in the food industry. Ice cream containers were first shrunk to 56, then to just 48 ounces! Blue Bell has bucked this trend, continuing to offer their ice cream in standard 1/2 gallon containers.

By the way, this ice cream is delicious! Special flavors like Chocolate Sheet Cake, Coconut Cream Pie, and Southern Blackberry Cobbler rotate monthly. Several other varieties are available year round such as Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream, Homemade Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, plus my personal favorite: Moo-llennium Crunch!

Inflation has pushed the regular price of Blue Bell to around $9.00 per half gallon. This week, Kroger has it on sale for just $5.99 each when you purchase two! This is as cheap as it gets, folks. If you love Blue Bell ice cream, now is the time to stock up. If you’ve never tried it before, here’s your chance to sample Blue Bell at an unbeatable price.

Don’t miss this year’s Texas Sales Tax Holiday when doing your back-to-school shopping. The tax free weekend takes place over 3 days:

Friday, August 8
Saturday, August 9
Sunday, August 10

On these dates, you can purchase these items free of Texas state sales tax:

– Clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less per article. Excludes accessories, athletic or protective clothing, and rentals of clothing or footwear.
– Backpacks priced at $100 or less, used by elementary or secondary school students.
– School supplies priced at $100 or less per item.

Many stores will be having special back to school sales on eligible items in conjunction with the sales tax holiday. Walmart, Target, Belk, Shoe Station, Famous Footwear, Dillard’s, Sears, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls, Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples are all good bets for tax free weekend sales and special back to school tax holiday promotions.
