Connecticut Sales Tax Holiday Free Weekend

This tax holiday applied earlier this year but has NOT yet been approved by the Connecticut Legislature for 2025. As soon as I receive further information, this page will be updated. Be sure to check back often!

Don’t miss this year’s Connecticut Sales Tax Holiday when doing your back-to-school shopping. Unlike most states where the tax free weekend lasts only a few days, Connecticut’s tax holiday continues for an entire week:

Sunday, August 18
Monday, August 19
Tuesday, August 20
Wednesday, August 21
Thursday, August 22
Friday, August 23
Saturday, August 24

On these dates, you can purchase these items free of Connecticut state sales tax:

– Clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less per item. Excludes clothing accessories and protective or athletic clothing.

Many stores will be having special back to school sales on eligible items in conjunction with the sales tax holiday. Walmart, Target, Belk, Neiman Marcus, Famous Footwear, Dillard’s, Sears, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Marshalls have frequent tax free weekend sales and back to school tax holiday promotions.

Cub Foods Minnesota State Fair Discount Tickets

If you’re attending the Minnesota State Fair, don’t pay full price at the gate! Get your advance discounted Minnesota State Fair tickets at Cub Foods stores, July 14th through August 21st.

– Save $3 on Pre-Fair Discount Admission tickets, just $15.00. Valid for any 1 day gate admission, any age. Not valid for parking. Children age 4 and under receive free admission. Limit 24 tickets per customer.

– Purchase a card of 50 Midway/Kidway ride and game credits for only $40.00. Valid all 12 days of the Fair for any game or ride on the Mighty Midway or Kidway. When you purchase ride and game tickets, they will be loaded onto a Fun Card since paper ride and game tickets are no longer used. Most rides require 4-6 tickets, games 1-4 tickets.
